Blue Topaz & Peridot Sterling Silver Drop Earrings
A delightful pair of gemstone earrings showcasing stunningly sparkling 9mm x 7mm faceted ovals of semi-precious green peridot, delicately complemented by two glimmering faceted-cut 6mm x 4mm ovals of blue topaz. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver claw or bezel setting.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Fairy Glen Gorge near Betws-y-Coed, where crystal-clear water dances across black and mossy rock, foaming white rapids periodically punctuating the peaceful woodland landscape.
An August birthstone, peridot has been popular since 1500 BCE, when its symbolic powers ranged from dissuading nightmares and promoting bravery to subduing harmful feelings of anger and guilt.
One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.
44mm long (~1¾ inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
