Ice Aquamarine & Apatite Sterling Silver Earrings
An entrancing pair of gemstone earrings showcasing gorgeously glimmering 8mm x 6mm faceted ovals of semi-precious ice aquamarine alongside two stunningly sparkling 5mm x 4mm inverted pear-drops of faceted-cut apatite. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver claw setting.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Conwy Falls, an impressive white-water cascade nestled amongst the ancient, maze-like woodland surrounding the picturesque Welsh village of Betws-y-Coed, where many of its trees can be dated back over five centuries.
A March birthstone, aquamarine is named after the serene ocean waters with which it shares its captivating hues. Due to this maritime association, some sailors wear it to bring good fortune.
Apatite, an arresting gemstone which naturally occurs in a broad array of hues, is named after the Greek apate (‘deceit’) as its varied colours have fooled many into mistaking it for other minerals.
38mm long (~1½ inch), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
