Matching Jewellery Set of Cubic Zirconia & Ethiopian Opal Sterling Silver Necklace & Earrings
This delightful matching jewellery set of bespoke sterling silver earrings and necklace features gorgeous earth-mined 8mm x 6mm pear-drops of natural Ethiopian opal alongside several stunningly sparkling 1mm x 1mm faceted rounds of lab-grown cubic zirconia. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver claw setting.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Fairy Glen Gorge near Betws-y-Coed, where crystal-clear water dances across black and mossy rock, foaming white rapids periodically punctuating the peaceful woodland landscape.
An October birthstone, opal was once dubbed the ‘Patron of Thieves’, believed to render its wearer invisible. Now, though, the opal is more commonly seen as a stone of love and protection.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
This pendant, attached to an 18-inch chain, will come alongside these 26mm long (~1 inch) earrings, forming a dazzling gemstone set which will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
