Inspired by Waterfalls

Natural Emerald & White Opal Sterling Silver Earrings

Earth mined 5mm x 4mm oval Emerald precious gemstone, complimented by delighftully created 12mm x 5mm oval White Opal (lab) gemstones. These gemstones are hand set in sterling silver in a claw setting and bezel setting respectfully.

This jewellery is inspired by the mesmerising Dyserth Falls;  a 70ft water cascade to enjoy in North Wales with a wonderful hiking trail that leads over and behind this waterfall so you can see its magnificence from all angles.

Serving as a birthstone for the month of May, emerald has often been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its close ties with historical royalty – it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since. Surpassing even royalty, emerald has been worshipped as a god by some cultures, namely those in South America prior to the Spanish conquest, who deified the stone for its immense, undeniable beauty.

An October birthstone, opal is thought to be named simply after the Sanskrit upala, meaning ‘precious stone’ – its historical and symbolic associations, however, are far more complex. Dubbed the ‘Patron of Thieves’, this gemstone was once believed to enable the wearer to turn invisible, and medieval women prized them as they were said to prevent fair hair from losing its lustre. Now, though, the opal is more commonly seen more broadly as a stone of protection and love.

38mm long (~1 1/2 inchs), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
