Inspired by the World

Purple Amethyst, Cubic Zirconia, Sterling Silver, Necklace

An enchanting necklace showcasing a stunningly sparkling 8mm x 6mm faceted pear-drop of semi-precious purple amethyst alongside several breathtaking faceted-cut 1mm x 1mm rounds of lab-grown cubic zirconia. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver claw setting.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the stunning purple flowers of Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, a 14-acre tribute to fine art and floristry, found in Houston, Texas. Its meticulously-crafted gardens breathtakingly recall those of the Italian Renaissance, complete with superb statues of Greek and Roman gods.

A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
