This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano, an active, yet remarkably beautiful, volcano nestled amongst the blooming greenery of the Alajuela Province. Bathed here in the rich hues of an evening sunset, its volcanic majesty dominates the skyline.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
A birthstone for July, ruby has long represented power and success; for 8th-century Arabic mystics, dreams of rubies foretold good fortune, whilst in ancient Burma they stood for life itself.
A December birthstone, tanzanite was first discovered in 1967 in Tanzania, borrowing its name from its origin country. It is often worn by Tanzanian mothers to grant their new-borns happy lives.
