Inspired by Moorlands

Iolite Amethyst Necklace, Cubic Zirconia, Natural Semi Precious, Handmade Gemstone Jewellery, Sterling Silver, Pendant

£59.95

Incredible natural 7mm x 5mm oval-shaped purple Amethyst semi-precious faceted gemstone, complimented by lovely faceted cut sparkling 6mm x 4mm inverted pear drop-shaped blue Iolite semi-precious gemstones & several 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconias. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting & cluster setting respectively!

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Hiraethog, an area of untouched natural beauty on the doorstep of Snowdonia graced with the heavenly purple tones of heather-rich moorland. Its name translates to ‘The Hills of Longing’, and its tranquil landscapes are characterised by the pastoral charm synonymous with the Welsh countryside.

A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

Iolite, occasionally called a ‘water sapphire’, is sometimes considered a September birthstone. Used as a guide by Norse seafarers, this ‘Vikings’ Compass’ embodies a keen sense of direction.

Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
