Inspired by Moorlands

Opal Amethyst Necklace, Ethiopian Opal, Semi Precious Gemstone, Handmade Jewellery, Sterling Silver, Pendant

Original price was: £125.00.Current price is: £112.50.

Incredible earth-mined 14mm x 7mm marquise-shaped faceted Ethiopian Opal semi-precious gemstone, complimented by two serene sparkling faceted 6mm x 3mm marquise-shaped purple Amethyst semi-precious gemstones. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting!
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Moel Famau, where blooms of beautifully pink and purple heather act as a rich and vibrant highlight amongst the subdued moorland hues en-route to an ancient local landmark.
A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.
As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.
Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
