This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Maesyrchen – here, the dazzlingly vivid pink and purple heather brings the moorland to life, infusing it with breathtaking colour.

A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

A December birthstone, tanzanite was first discovered in 1967 in Tanzania, borrowing its name from its origin country. It is often worn by Tanzanian mothers to grant their new-borns happy lives.

An adjustable 7.5 inches long, this dazzling gemstone bracelet will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
