Inspired by Moorlands

Topaz Amethyst Earrings, Swiss Blue Topaz, Green Amethyst, Cubic Zirconia, Semi Precious, Handmade Gemstone Jewellery, Sterling Silver

Gorgeous faceted cut 6mm x 4mm oval-shaped Swiss Blue Topaz semi-precious gemstones, complimented by several amazing sparkling 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconia & 9mm x 7mm emerald-cut-shaped Green Amethyst. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a cluster setting & a prong setting respectively!
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Moel Fachan, where the lively tones of the sloping green fields below begin to give way to the subdued reds and yellows of the higher moorland.
A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.
37mm long (~1 1/4 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift. .
