This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Moel Y Faen, where the untouched moorland is a sight to behold. Blanketed in rich purple-pink heather and lined with scenic hiking paths, this local treasure makes the perfect picnic spot.
One of the birthstones for January, garnet – historically tied to friendship and faithfulness – has long been used for decoration, having been found amongst the relics of ancient Greece and Egypt.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.
35mm long (~1 1/4 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
