Morganite & Ruby Sterling Silver Stud Drop Earrings

These delightful gemstone earrings showcase stunning 7mm x 5mm ovals of natural raspberry red ruby, delicately complemented by 9mm x 6mm pear-drops of faceted pink morganite. Each of these impressive gemstones is delicately hand-set in a stylish sterling claw setting.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Offa’s Dyke, an astonishing earthwork that runs along the Welsh border. It is named after Offa, an 8th-century Anglo-Saxon king who ordered its construction in an attempt to fortify his kingdom of Mercia against the neighbouring forces of Wales.

A birthstone for July, ruby has long represented power and success; for 8th-century Arabic mystics, dreams of rubies foretold good fortune, whilst in ancient Burma they stood for life itself.

Named after renowned American financier J.P. Morgan, morganite bears an inherent association with wealth and prosperity. Some also claim that it aids in fostering unconditional love.

18mm long (~¾ inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.

Thanks for looking. Commissions welcome.
