Inspired by Moorlands

AAA Quality Purple Amethyst & Blue Topaz Sterling Silver Gemstone Earrings

An enchanting pair of gemstone earrings showcasing remarkable AAA-quality 9mm x 9mm trillions of semi-precious purple amethyst, delicately complemented by stunning AAA-quality 5mm x 5mm cushion-cut gemstones of eye-catching blue topaz. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver bezel or claw setting, respectively.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Hiraethog, an area of untouched natural beauty on the doorstep of Snowdonia graced with the heavenly purple tones of heather-rich moorland. Its name translates to ‘The Hills of Longing’, and its tranquil landscapes are characterised by the pastoral charm synonymous with the Welsh countryside.

One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.

A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.

36mm long (~1¼ inch), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.

Thanks for looking. Commissions welcome.
