Iolite Opal Earrings, Ethiopian Opal, Semi Precious, Handmade Gemstone Jewellery, Sterling Silver, Drop Earrings

Lovely faceted cut sparkling 8mm x 6mm oval-shaped blue Iolite ‘water sapphire’ semi-precious gemstones, complimented by delightfully crafted earth-mined 8mm x 6mm oval-shaped Ethiopian Opal semi-precious gemstones. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting!
This handmade piece of jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Rhossili Bay. Lying at the west end of the beautiful Gower peninsula Rhossili Bay is an iconic destination with dramatic panoramic views and steep cliff tops where wild ponies roam and over look one of the best beaches in the world.
As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.
Iolite, occasionally called a ‘water sapphire’, is sometimes considered a September birthstone. Used as a guide by Norse seafarers, this ‘Vikings’ Compass’ embodies a keen sense of direction.
32mm long (~1 1/4 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
