Natural Emerald, Blue Topaz & Cubic Zirconia Sterling Silver Earrings
Serene natural 6mm x 4mm oval-shaped Emerald precious gemstones, complimented by stunning faceted cut sparkling 10mm x 7mm pear drop-shaped Blue Topaz semi-precious gemstones & several 1mm x 1mm round Cubic Zirconia gemstones. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a claw setting & bezel setting respectfully.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the spectacular Llynnau Mymbyr, set amongst the stunning landscape of Snowdonia’s highest peaks. Over a kilometre long, these twin lakes are also known as the ‘Capel Curig Lakes’, and offer a chilling blue depth of 30 metres.
A May birthstone, emerald has been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its ties to historical royalty; it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since.
One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
