Blue Topaz & Peridot Sterling Silver Stud Drop Earrings

An enchanting pair of earrings showcasing stunningly sparkling 6mm x 6mm cushion-cut gemstones of faceted green peridot alongside glimmering, faceted-cut 8mm x 8mm cushions of semi-precious blue topaz. Each of these gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver bezel setting.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Cronfa Alwen, a wonderful 5km-long reservoir near Pentre-Llyn-Cymmer, North Wales. A regular destination for us, this stunningly deep blue lake and its surrounding forests and moorland are perfect for walking our excitable young Labrador.

An August birthstone, peridot has been popular since 1500 BCE, when its symbolic powers ranged from dissuading nightmares and promoting bravery to subduing harmful feelings of anger and guilt.

One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.

16mm long (~½ inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.

Thanks for looking. Commissions welcome.
