Tanzanite & Blue Topaz Sterling Silver Drop Earrings
An enchanting pair of gemstone earrings showcasing two lovely 3mm x 3mm rounds of rare blue tanzanite, delicately complemented by stunningly sparkling 9mm x 9mm faceted rounds of semi-precious blue topaz. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver claw setting.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of North Wales’ Lake Padarn, a glacially-carved basin of sapphire waters lying below the snow-capped peaks of Snowdonia, surrounded by 800 acres of natural parkland seamed with countless trails.
One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.
A December birthstone, tanzanite was first discovered in 1967 in Tanzania, borrowing its name from its origin country. It is often worn by Tanzanian mothers to grant their new-borns happy lives.
40mm long (~1½ inch), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
