Inspired by Castles

Orange-Opal Celtic Necklace, Celtic Design, Cubic Zirconia, Semi Precious, Handmade Gemstone Jewellery, Sterling Silver, Pendant

£59.95

Beautiful natural 5mm x 5mm round-shaped Orange Ethiopian Opal semi-precious faceted gemstone, complimented by several 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconias. These gemstones are handset in a beautiful sterling silver Celtic design with gold plated accents in a prong setting!

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Ruthin Castle, which acts today as a visual juxtaposition of two eras; at one end of the lush local parkland, enshrouded in ivy, slumps the ruined wall of a 13th-century fortress, whilst at the other stands a 19th-20th century manor house-turned-hotel. Both hold a unique appeal, but together they offer an indescribable allure, the red walls of the hotel contrasting gorgeously with the grey and green of the medieval remnants.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.

Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
