Unusually crafted 8mm x 6mm pear drop-shaped Whitby black Jet gemstone, complimented by stunning sparkling 6mm x 4mm pear drop natural Aquamarine & 3mm x 3mm round-shaped blue Tanzanite rare gemstone. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a bezel setting & prong setting respectively!

This unique jewellery is inspired by Whitby, North Yorkshire. Synonymous with Captain Cook and Dracula this coastal town has quirky narrow streets, russet roof tops, bustling harbour, overlooked by the majestic Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey. This fascinating town holds special memories for me as I went to school there but more importantly it is the only place in the world to find Whitby Jet.

Whitby Jet is very rare and very old; one hundred and fifty million years in fact. It is actually a fossilised monkey puzzle tree that with the movement of the earth’s crust became compressed with rock and sand to form seams in the cliffs around Whitby. Made famous by Queen Victoria semi-precious black Whitby Jet is truly inspirational.

A March birthstone, aquamarine is named after the serene ocean waters with which it shares its captivating hues. Due to this maritime association, some sailors wear it to bring good fortune

A December birthstone, tanzanite was first discovered in 1967 in Tanzania, borrowing its name from its origin country. It is often worn by Tanzanian mothers to grant their new-borns happy lives.

Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
