Iolite Moonstone Necklace, Cubic Zirconia, Blue Iolite, Semi Precious, Sterling Silver, Pendant

Lovely sparkling 6mm x 4mm pear drop-shaped blue Iolite also called ‘water sapphire’ semi-precious faceted gemstone, complimented by gorgoues 6mm x 6mm round faceted Moonstone that shines blue depending on the light & several 1mm x 1mm round Cubic Zirconia. This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Dolwyddelan Castle, a 13th-century fortress nestled amongst the rugged, mountainous landscape of Snowdonia. One of the few castles in Wales built by and for the native Welsh, the castle’s uniquely box-like architecture and seemingly symbiotic relationship with its hilltop setting – into which it is firmly entrenched – set it apart from English-built equivalents.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
One of the birthstones for September, sapphire’s symbolism is as diverse as its hues, having been associated with youth and old age, power and kindness, and wealth alongside freedom from envy.
Iolite, occasionally called a ‘water sapphire’, is sometimes considered a September birthstone. Used as a guide by Norse seafarers, this ‘Vikings’ Compass’ embodies a keen sense of direction.
Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
