Inspired by Castles

Black Opal Necklace, Cubic Zirconia, Semi Precious, Handmade Gemstone Jewellery, Sterling Silver, Pendant

£79.95

Gorgeous 6mm x 4mm oval & eight 4mm x 3mm oval-shaped black Opal semi-precious gemstones. Complimented by several 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconia gemstones. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting & cluster setting respectively!

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Ruthin Castle, which acts today as a visual juxtaposition of two eras; at one end of the lush local parkland, enshrouded in ivy, slumps the ruined wall of a 13th-century fortress, whilst at the other stands a 19th-20th century manor house-turned-hotel. Both hold a unique appeal, but together they offer an indescribable allure, the red walls of the hotel contrasting gorgeously with the grey and green of the medieval remnants.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

An October birthstone, opal was once dubbed the ‘Patron of Thieves’, believed to render its wearer invisible. Now, though, the opal is more commonly seen as a stone of love and protection.

Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
