Emerald & Cubic Zirconia Sterling Silver Earrings
A delightful pair of gemstone earrings showcasing magnificent natural 4mm x 3mm ovals of precious green emerald, delicately complemented by stunningly sparkling 1mm x 1mm faceted rounds of lab-grown cubic zirconia. Each of these impressive gemstones is elegantly hand-set in a stylish sterling silver claw setting adorned with a charming unique design.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the castle of Dinas Bran near Llangollen, Denbighshire. Situated atop a steep hill, this 13th-century ruin offers a commanding view of the local landscape, its crumbling grey walls framing the delicate green and purple hues of the nature below with the decaying remnants of bygone military might.
A May birthstone, emerald has been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its ties to historical royalty; it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
42mm long (~1½ inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
