Apatite, Cubic Zirconia, Sterling Silver, Rose Gold Accent, Drop Earrings
These stunningly unique lever-backed earrings showcase sixteen unusual neon blue-green 6mm x 4mm graduating to 2mm ovals and rounds of faceted natural apatite semi-precious alongside glimmering 2mm x 2mm cubic zirconia. Each impressive gemstone is hand-set in stylish sterling silver with claw settings, captivating rose gold accents, and an enchanting leaf design.
Apatite, an arresting gemstone which naturally occurs in a broad array of hues, is named after the Greek apate (‘deceit’) as its varied colours have fooled many into mistaking it for other minerals.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the richly-coloured frescos of the Vatican, breathtaking artworks in the heart of an astonishingly beautiful city.
45mm long (~1.8 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
