Inspired by the Tuscan Hills

Ruby, Cubic Zirconia, Gemstone, Sterling Silver Necklace, Ruby Anniversary

This stunning pendant necklace showcases a 6mm x 4mm faceted oval and 4mm x 3mm faceted teardrop of natural raspberry red ruby alongside glimmering 3mm x 3mm and 1mm x 1mm cubic zirconia gemstones, elegantly hand-set in stylish sterling silver.
A birthstone for July, ruby has long represented power and success; for 8th-century Arabic mystics, dreams of rubies foretold good fortune, whilst in ancient Burma they stood for life itself.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Siena, a city in the Italian region of Tuscany. Here, colourful terraces of warm-hued medieval brick, a white marble masterpiece of a cathedral, and the expansive beauty of the Piazza del Campo – which stands beneath the impressive tower of the Palazzo Publicco – combine to offer a remarkable testament to the wonders of Italian architectural artistry.
Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
Thanks for looking. Commissions welcome.
