Inspired by the Tuscan Hills

Natural Ethiopian Opal, Peridot, Gemstone, Sterling Silver, Earrings

£125.00

A delightful pair of earrings featuring enchanting 4mm x 6mm faceted ovals of natural AAA Ethiopian opal with 1mm cubic zirconia set at all corners, complemented by 8mm x 6mm faceted ovals of natural, AAA-quality peridot. Each impressive gemstone is elegantly hand-set in stylish sterling silver.

As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

An August birthstone, peridot has been popular since 1500 BCE, when its symbolic powers ranged from dissuading nightmares and promoting bravery to subduing harmful feelings of anger and guilt.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the stunning rolling hills around the countryside of the characterful village of Fornace Laterizi, south of Siena, Tuscany.

45mm long (~1 3/4 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.

Thanks for looking. Commissions welcome.
