Ethiopian Opal, Amethyst, Citrine, Garnet, Gemstone, Sterling Silver Earrings
These lovely earrings showcase stunning 4mm x 3mm faceted gemstones of natural amethyst, 6mm x 4mm citrine, and 6mm x 4mm semi-precious garnet alongside fabulous 6mm x 5mm faceted teardrops of AAA-quality Ethiopian opal. This impressive selection of gemstones is elegantly hand-set in stylish sterling silver.
As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.
A February birthstone, amethyst has traditionally symbolised sobriety – its name derives from the Greek ametusthos, “not intoxicated”. More recently, it has also been tied to deep emotional bonds.
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the rich colours of St Peter’s Basilica, a 16th-century marvel of renaissance art and architecture sitting at the heart of the Vatican City.
28mm long (~1.1 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
