Inspired by the Tuscan Hills

Smokey Quartz, Blue Topaz, Sterling Silver, 14ct Gold Accent Earrings

A stunning pair of earrings showcasing two wonderful 4mm x 4mm faceted trillions of blue topaz faceted alongside 14mm x 5mm rectangular-cut gemstones of AAA-quality smokey quartz finished with a champagne bead. Each magnificent gemstone is elegantly hand-set in stylish sterling silver with a charming rose gold accent.

One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.

A birthstone for November, smokey quartz features in German and Austrian folklore as a source of good fortune, whilst ancient Celtic druids once believed it to channel the energies of the Earth.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Monticchiello, an ancient village in the Tuscan heartland of the Val d’Orcia. Here, the sun-kissed remains of historic forts watch over quaint Renaissance streets and squares amidst a picturesque landscape of verdant grassland dotted with deep green cypress.

50mm long (~2 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.

Thanks for looking. Commissions welcome.
