Inspired by Mountains

Alexandrite Opal Necklace, Ethiopian Opal, Purple to Green Alexandrite, Cubic Zirconia, Handmade Gemstone Jewellery, Sterling Silver

Gorgeous faceted cut sparkling 12mm x 6mm marquise-shaped Alexandrite (lab) gemstone that changes colour from Purple to Green in flourescent light, complemented by delightful 5mm x 4mm oval-shaped Ethiopian Opal semi-precious gemstones, along with two 3mm x 3mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconia (lab) gemstones. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting!
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the Llantysylio Mountains, a stunning range of sky-scraping peaks above the pretty town of Llangollen. Gorgeously blanketed in rich plant life and dappled with the rich hues of heather, this breathtaking terrain makes the perfect destination for hikers.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
The most widely-recognised birthstone for June, alexandrite is named after Alexander II of Russia, supposedly having been first discovered by miners in the Ural Mountains on his birthday.
As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.
Attached to an 18-inch chain, this dazzling gemstone pendant will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of its inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented piece which makes the perfect gift.
