    Wonderfully crafted earth-mined 6mm x 4mm oval-shaped Ethiopian Opal semi-precious faceted gemstones, complimented by beautiful 6mm x 4mm oval-shaped Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, cabochon semi-precious gemstones, two 2mm x 2mm round Rhodolite Garnet & several 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconias. These gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting & cluster setting respectively!
     
    This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Rhaeadr y Cwm, where pure white water thunderously crashes down a self-carved path through jagged rocks and green-flecked cliffs.
     
    One of the birthstones for January, garnet – historically tied to friendship and faithfulness – has long been used for decoration, having been found amongst the relics of ancient Greece and Egypt.
     
    A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
     
    As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.
     
    A December birthstone, turquoise has been long-prized for its associations with good luck; the Aztecs, who valued it above gold, sported turquoise war-gear to enhance their battlefield fortunes.
