    Two lovely earth-mined 3mm x 3mm round & two 4mm x 4mm round Ethiopian Opal semi-precious gemstones, complimented by gorgeous natural 5mm x 4mm oval green Emerald precious gemstones, 2mm x 2mm round Tsavorite green Garnet semi-precious & several 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Black Spinels. These natural gemstones are handset in sterling silver in a prong setting & cluster setting respectively!
     
    This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the phenomenal Swallow Falls in the Snowdonia National Park. One of the tallest waterfalls in Wales, this landmark brims with churning cascades in a picturesque, wooded setting, accessible by a narrow, rocky footpath.
     
    One of the birthstones for January, garnet – historically tied to friendship and faithfulness – has long been used for decoration, having been found amongst the relics of ancient Greece and Egypt.
     
    A May birthstone, emerald has been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its ties to historical royalty; it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since.
     
    As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.

    This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Llangollen’s ‘Town Falls’, a series of frothing white-water rapids which roar beneath a spectacular bridge, drawing kayakers from far and wide to this spot on the River Dee.

    One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.

    This bespoke jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Angels Bay. The bay is a small inlet on the end of the Little Orme near Llandudno. A short hike up this headline will lead you to this pretty bay and in winter you may be lucky enough as I was, to see the gathering of seals, an amazing experience.s
