  • Ethiopian Opal, Gemstone, Sterling Silver, Earrings, Rose Gold Accent

A fabulously elegant pair of stud drop earrings featuring delicately colour-flecked 4mm x 5mm faceted ovals of earth-mined Ethiopian opal, hand-set in a stylish sterling silver design with charming accents of rose gold.

As with other opals, Ethiopian opal is a birthstone for October, said to brim with joyously positive emotion whilst also invoking the calmness and restraint required to balance such ardour.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Italy’s most historic city, Rome. Capital of Italy and ancient seat of the mighty Roman Empire, this age-old metropolis sees sprawling streets spill colourfully forth beneath the imposing alabaster silhouettes of marble palaces and archways, a rich collage of hues characterising its busy pavements and plazas. The city’s Renaissance stylings are juxtaposed stunningly alongside the ancient wonders of the Roman Colosseum and Pantheon.

35mm long (~1 1/4 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the USA’s Everglades, a natural collage of beautifully blue waters and verdant vegetation formed by an expansive network of forests, prairies and wetlands – a ‘river of grass’ – that flows from near Kissimmee as far as Florida Bay.

A May birthstone, emerald has been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its ties to historical royalty; it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since.

One of the birthstones for September, sapphire’s symbolism is as diverse as its hues, having been associated with youth and old age, power and kindness, and wealth alongside freedom from envy.

A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.

25mm long (~1 inch), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
