Both hold a unique appeal, but together they offer an indescribable allure, the red walls of the hotel contrasting gorgeously with the grey and green of the medieval remnants.

A birthstone for July, ruby has long represented power and success; for 8th-century Arabic mystics, dreams of rubies foretold good fortune, whilst in ancient Burma they stood for life itself.
