This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the roaring waterfalls found in Clocaenog Forest, a vast swathe of verdant woodland which stretches across Denbighshire and Conwy. Here, the foaming white water spills over dark grey rocks, the deep green trees bearing witness to its natural ferocity.

A May birthstone, emerald has been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its ties to historical royalty; it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Bagno Vignoni – ‘the Bath in the Vineyards’ – a quaint Italian village set amongst the gentle hills of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia. This medieval settlement is centred around the hot spring baths which give it its name, crystal-clear sapphire waters walled with pale stone. Both the baths and the picturesque properties which surround them can be dated back to the medieval era, and though the central pool is no longer open to the public for bathing, the nearby hot springs at the Parco dei Mulini offer a similar experience.

This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Assisi, an Italian city and marvel of architectural design which sits in the Umbrian province of Perugia. Here, enveloping walls of pure white stone enclose the quintessential Italian cityscape; charming streets wind up and down steep hillside slopes, colourful flowers adorn the windowsills of picturesque terraces, and tourists gather in awe at the Tempio di Minerva, an ancient Roman site of worship dating back to the first century BCE.

50mm long (~2 inches), these dazzling gemstone earrings will arrive packaged in a small gift box featuring the image of their inspiration on the inside of the lid. Combined with an organza bag, this results in a gorgeously-presented pair which makes the perfect gift.
