This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of Bodelwyddan Castle, a towering bastion of stone which has stood, in some form, near Rhyl, Denbighshire since the 15th century. Veiled in startling red ivy against a backdrop of verdant greenery, this alabaster-like fortress perfectly encompasses the medieval charm which draws many to Wales.

A May birthstone, emerald has been called the ‘Jewel of Kings’ due to its ties to historical royalty; it was popularised by the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra, and has remained in fashion since.
