Magnificent faceted cut sparkling 8mm x 6mm oval-shaped Blue Topaz semi-precious gemstone, complemented by gorgeous 5mm x 4mm oval-shaped rare blue Kyanite gemstone & several 1mm x 1mm round-shaped Cubic Zirconia (lab) gemstones. These gemstones are handset in a lovely sterling silver Art Deco design in a prong setting & cluster setting respectfully!
This handmade jewellery is inspired by my photograph of the Llandudno coastline, where the white and gold of sandy beaches sinks into the sapphire waters of the Irish Sea, the emerald grassland and chalky rock of the Great Orme rising dramatically in the background.
A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock from both asteroids and the moon.
One of November’s birthstones, topaz is thought to be named after the Sanskrit tapas, meaning ‘fire’. Hindu literature points to its functions as a lengthener of life and provider of wisdom.
Kyanite’s name arises from the Greek kyanos, meaning ‘deep blue’. A stunning, serene gemstone, it is said to bridge the gap between the heart and the mind.
