Natural 8mm x 6mm inverted pear drop raspberry red Ruby precious gemstone with lots of character together with 6mm x 4mm pear drop purple Amethyst semi-precious gemstoneand 1mm x 1mm round Cubic Zirconia gemstones in an Art Deco style design.
This jewellery is inspired by my photgraphy of the breathtaking red & purple colours of the sun setting across the Clwyd Valley!
A birthstone for those born in February, amethyst is a striking semi-precious gemstone which has traditionally symbolised sobriety and restraint – its name comes from the Greek ametusthos, meaning “not intoxicated”. A birthstone for the month of April first developed in the USSR in the 1970s, cubic zirconia is created from base substances found in extraterrestrial rock, both from asteroids and the moon. Some claim that it aids in controlling one’s ego and selfishness, as well as in gaining a strong mental and spiritual clarity.
A birthstone for July, ruby has stood as a symbol of power and success since antiquity; 8th-century Arabic mystics decreed that dreams of rubies foretold good fortune and great satisfaction in life. Thanks to their traditional blood-red hue, rubies have been tied to life and health throughout history – ancient Burmese warriors even believed that these gemstones rendered their wearers near-immortal.
